Ruby Ridge - Cuttlefish
Here is our first official music video, for our earliest single, Cuttlefish. It was mostly filmed in Orleans, MA during January of 2012 and was directed and produced by Rory Gory Pictures.
Here’s a one-off recording of a Queers cover done sludgepop style circa 09. Yrs truly on 12-string, bass, beats and vox
Yours truly checks out Stumptown Comics Fest and the Addison Groove/Doc Daneeka/Tyler Tastemaker show at Holocene: This time ‘round in my bi-monthly Boston Phoenix column hub capped!

This weekend’s 9th annual Stumptown Comics Fest kicks off the festivities in high gear tomorrow, with a free “drink and draw” event featuring legendary underground cartoonist Peter Bagge! So if you’re a budding illustrator yourself, or if like me you just savor the opportunity to knock back a cold one with the “Hate” scribe, tomorrow night at Bridge City Comics is your chance! Free snacks, drinks and drawing supplies will be on-hand courtesy of Ninkasi, Dark Horse and Bridge City. FUCK YES!
The latest in my twice-monthly column for the Boston Phoenix, in which I chronicle life on the west coast from a Masshole’s perspective. This time around, 4/20 and Record Store Day both fell on the first warm, sunny weekend we’ve had all year! You better believe I made the most of it…

GAY GHOST - SHEA
I’ve been in Portland for several months now, but tonight’s 4/20 Chili Cookoff at Fail House will be the first chance I have to see GAY GHOST, who are far and away my favorite rock band in this city. Check out “Shea”, a perfect little slice of moody Bunnymen-esque classic alternative.
Icing on the cake, they’ll be joined by MICS, who I haven’t seen since back when they were a Boston band several years ago. Should be a helluva night!

WEYES BLOOD - CANDYBOY
As if the Sunday’s TRUST show at Rotture isn’t reason enough to be excited for the weekend to come, Saturday night brings East Coast psych-electro-drone-folk songstress Weyes Blood to the intimate and impeccably-stocked Little Axe Records in Northeast Portland. Joining her will be the truly far out sound of Toning, as well as Queen Victoria and Eye Myths. Pure moods…

TRUST - FTF (TRUSTMIX)

A group I’ve been looking forward to checking out live for a long time is making its way through Portland on Sunday, April 15th. Toronto synth-poppers TRUST will be at Rotture along with two local favorites of mine, Vice Device and A S S S. So check out the TRUSTMIX of the totally gnarly TRUSTTUNE “FTF” if you’re looking for something to get psyched about. This show and the Tropic of Cancer/Demdike Stare show (also at Rotture) are sure to be some of the high points of the spring.
